| Measured fixture results | Tested scale: 4× | Tested scale: 2× |
| Fixture findings | The 4× upscale remains smooth and clean, achieving 26.89 dB PSNR and 0.8867 SSIM with legible main sign text, though fine high frequencies are smoother than generative diffusion models. | Colours and facial features looked natural; the free trial output was 2× with a watermark. |
| Original historical observation | Uploaded 512×512 anchor image; selected By Dimensions mode setting target to 2048×2048 (4.0x upscale). Client HTML5 Canvas rendered deliverable in 3.41 seconds, achieving 26.89 dB PSNR, 0.8867 SSIM, and 15.07 dB plate PSNR. Deliverable remained clean and smooth; direct Base64 PNG download. | Smart Upscaler 3 delivers natural skin and hair tone fidelity (PSNR=26.21 dB, SSIM=0.9644) without harsh oversharpening halos, but restricts free demos to 2x (1024×1024) with a watermark—contrasting sharply with Icons8 Background Remover's unwatermarked 2048×2048 free demos. |
