Scope of benchmark snapshots, citation licenses & disclaimers
Welcome to RealTest.org, our browser extension, and our open benchmark datasets. By accessing or citing RealTest, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms regarding benchmark scope, disclaimers, intellectual property, and citation rules.
All scores, timings, and plan records reflect observations on the stated date and fixture, without warranty of current vendor performance or uptime.
Released JSON/CSV datasets are licensed under CC BY 4.0. Citations must retain the task topic, test date, and evaluation scope.
SVG badges represent a single released task assessment. Altering scores/dates or claiming blanket product certification is prohibited.
Evaluated product names, logos, and screenshots belong to their respective owners and are shown under fair use for comparative research.
1. Assessment Scope, Timeliness & Disclaimer of Warranties
- Fixture and observation boundaries: Every RealTest task report is produced using a versioned benchmark fixture (such as a synthetic portrait or a multi-page financial PDF) on the stated test date (tested_at). A single fixture cannot exhaust all real-world edge cases, and network-observed server wait times include contemporary queueing and routing conditions.
- Dynamic vendor pricing and terms: Third-party tool vendors may change free quotas, watermark policies, subscription prices, credit rules, or service availability at any time. While we separate historical test records from dated pricing verifications (verified_at) and label unverified items, our records may lag behind live vendor changes. Always verify final checkout terms on the vendor’s official website before purchasing.
- As-is provision and limitation of liability: RealTest.org, its public datasets, the client-side file inspector, and the browser extension are provided free of charge on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RealTest and its maintainers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your reliance on our assessments or your use of any third-party tools linked from this site.
2. Open Dataset License (CC BY 4.0) & SVG Badge Policy
Except for third-party trademarks and captured interface screenshots, RealTest’s compiled public benchmark datasets (including /api/benchmarks.json, /api/benchmarks.csv, /api/catalog.json, /api/extension-index.json, and llms.txt / llms-full.txt) are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) ↗ . When citing our data or embedding SVG badges, you must follow these rules:
- Preserve complete context: Any citation of scores or findings must state the tool name, the specific task category (e.g., Background Remover or PDF to Word), the test date (tested_at), and a link back to https://realtest.org.
- No cross-task averaging or badge tampering: Each official badge (/badges/{category}/{domain}.svg) represents a single task assessment on a specific date. You may not alter the SVG score, date, or label, nor portray a single-task badge as an overall product rating or site-wide endorsement.
- Reasonable automated access: Search engines, AI answer engines (see /.well-known/ai.txt and robots.txt), and researchers are welcome to index our public pages and JSON/CSV feeds, provided automated requests do not abuse or flood dynamic endpoints such as /api/feedback.
3. Third-Party Trademarks & Fair Use
All evaluated product names, brand logos, domain names, and captured landing, result, or pricing screenshots displayed on RealTest are the property of their respective owners.
RealTest is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the evaluated vendors. Interface captures and pricing snapshots are provided strictly as verifiable factual evidence for consumer comparison, criticism, and benchmark research under fair use principles.
4. Submissions, Vendor Claims & Dispute Resolution
When submitting a new product, pricing update, or fact correction via /submit/ or email, you represent that the information is accurate, lawful, and free of confidential secrets or personal data, and you grant RealTest a non-exclusive right to verify and publish the resulting factual updates.
We state reproducible observations and avoid defamatory labels. If a vendor believes a recorded fact is inaccurate or has shipped major updates, please follow our Vendor Correction & Appeal Procedure (/methodology/#appeal) to request a review.
